This morning, I decided that a little writing practice was needed. I may decide, when my book of short stories and the new Eldern Journals (now 4 books) are published, to finish this tale and include it in my books of short stories. Title: “How Bizarre”.
“Strange as it may seem, many a séance attracts unwanted visitors from beyond the veil. These visitors are not benign. While people are curious about the afterlife, curiosity can be dangerous, especially so for innocents who believe themselves invincible. An experienced medium would have a back up team of powerful witches and warlocks. Lizzie, why do you believe yourself to be invincible?”
“Mama was right, Simon, Lizzie does intend going beyond the veil.”
“It’s a one way trip. Stupidity is not something I expected of you. Elisabeth, not until maturity do our powers rise.”
“I’m sixteen, so don’t treat me as you would a child.”
“Physically mature, but not mentally. Your powers haven’t risen and won’t do so until your training ends. Lee practices his exercises for many hours each day, while you languish beside the pool or spend time with the boys. Taking this journey will end your life, at least in our world. Do you understand the meaning behind my words?”
“I researched the art of summoning loved ones.” “While my powers have risen, yours have not. Why risk summoning beloved friends and family when there’s no doubt that the spirits will hitch a ride. Even you must be aware that there are more dangerous beings than the spirits who desire to return. Safety is guaranteed in this world, at least for our visitors. Elisabeth, open the wrong door, and the residents of Hell will walk among us.”
